Case study
‘Southern ID recently collaborated with a leading salad grower and packer to improve efficiency in their packing areas. After initial talks and site visits, we installed several stand-alone printing units at one of their glasshouse sites. With no need for a specific PC to be linked to the label printer, it allowed for all the space in the packing area to be properly utilised – essential at peak picking times. The stand-alone printing system also offered great ease-of-use, which meant that even with brief training, their high volume of part-time and seasonal staff could easily operate the label printers. The direct printing also sped up the packing process dramatically, as there was no delay waiting for a PC to start up. As a result, the client was extremely happy with the enhanced efficiency the units offered.’
